Profile: "Nobu at the Beach"

spye hampton has confirmed an interview with the infamous and energetic owner of Nobu - Southampton (aka. "Nobu at the Beach") and while that interview is pending, let us recap a stellar and star-studded weekend!

Despite a deliberately slow start to the summer, Nobu has gained traction as a Southampton nightlife staple item and in very short order.  Confidence amongst the owners and managers, coupled with the steadfast sanguinity of the Nobu brand, has cooked up a recipe for Hamptons success.  This weekend was accented by the patronage of Matt Lauer, Howard Stern and chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa.  Rooms began to fill at the Capri Hotel, where guests enjoyed poolside drinks and accessibility to Nobu's posh outdoor bar.

While many of Nobu's revelers--stuffed with Sushi and swimming in Saki--headed east to Georgica, or across the street to Southampton Social Club (a few even doubled-back to South Pointe, but spye hampton maintains they were lost), a sizable crew remained into the wee hours.  DJs spun classy vocal lounge music until the doors finally shut at shortly after 2am.  One of the last guests to exit was none other than PR extraordinaire, Jonathan Cheban, seen smiling ear-to-ear and chatting it up with Richie Notar.

With the heavy hitters in tow, rain clouds cleering and summer's climatic incalescence finally here, the Nobu nebula is birthing a shooting star.
